Feeling Stuck? 4 Steps to Help Free Yourself

Sometimes life makes us feel stuck: nothing seems to change and every day looks the same. We often feel unmotivated to reach our goals or believe we’ll never realize our dreams. And while those feelings are very real, it’s important to know that you can change your stance in life at any given moment. Try incorporating the 4 steps below into your life today and see how they can help transform your outlook.

Stop comparing yourself with others: we are all on different timelines and someone else’s success (or even their failure, for that matter) is not a reflection of you or your life. Instead of worrying that you haven’t achieved what you want yet, congratulate those who are doing well and look forward to the time when you will realize your own dreams.

Change your routine: if what you’re doing right now isn’t getting you closer to your goals, then it’s time to fix that. Take a look at your daily habits – sometimes we get so used to doing the same thing, day-in and day-out, that we don’t realize that what once worked for us in the past no longer serves our greater good today.

Find a new perspective: check in with yourself and get honest – what language are you using when you think about your goals? Is it negative? Are you putting too much pressure on yourself? Are your timelines realistic? Are you even sure this is what you want? If you reframe your thoughts about the situation, you will find yourself in a new space that allows for growth.

Confront your fears: are you afraid of success? Or failure? Recognize what your limiting beliefs are and then do the work to get rid of them. For help on how to do that, listen to the Where Money Meets Soul podcast episode, How Facing Your Fears Benefits Your Life.
