Anne of Green Gables said it best: “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
October to me represents a time of positive change, of warmth and togetherness, of gratefulness and abundance. When the weather starts to shift and the days get a little shorter, I’m instantly drawn to lighting candles, igniting the fireplace, and basking in the glow that they radiate. My soul rejoices in the warmth of this season.
It’s also the time when I get to create my favorite Halloween tradition: making ghost lollipops to distribute to trick-o-treaters. This practice represents more than just decorating candy, it’s a time for me to enjoy the art of simple creation while reflecting on the abundance in my life. It may sound silly, but being able to give—even if it’s just candy—makes me grateful and allows me to spread a little love and happiness from my doorstep.
This holiday season, I challenge you to spread love and happiness in simple ways: by smiling at a stranger, calling an old friend, volunteering, or safely distributing a little extra cheer as kids approach your door on Halloween.
Whatever you do, do it with kindness in your heart.
Wishing you peace, love, good health and adventure,
