Where to Eat in Austin, Texas

Austin is known for its famous BBQ and delicious food options. If you are a foodie like me, you will not be disappointed. Here’s a short list of places you must try!

Bangers Sausage House and Beer Garden

Bangers offers a casual outdoor setting, over 100 beers on tap, and 30 house-made sausages, which include delicious vegetarian options.

El Naranjo Restaurant and Bar

For an upscale Mexican cuisine experience, El Naranjo creates delicious meals and savory moles that are traditional to the Oaxaca region of Mexico.

Franklin Barbeque

Franklin Barbeque is known as one of the best BBQ joints in Austin. Food is served Tuesday-Sunday from 11 AM until they sell out. Be prepared to wait in very long lines.

Guero’s Taco Bar

Guero’s Taco Bar is a perfect place for margaritas and delicious Tex-Mex food, including vegan and vegetarian options. It also has a great outdoor cantina area with live music and dancing.

Home Slice Pizza

One of the best pizza places I’ve ever had is Home Slice Pizza. Perfect for carrying out, eating in, or enjoying after a day of honky-tonking.

Salt Lick BBQ

Located about 35 minutes from downtown Austin, Salt Lick BBQ is located along the beautiful rolling hills of Texas Hill Country. The location alone is worth the visit and the barbeque is phenomenal. Salt Lick is cash only and B.Y.O.B. However, if you like wine, Salt Lick Cellars is located next door to the restaurant and sells a great selection of award-winning wines.

Torchy’s Tacos Austin

When in Austin, Torchy’s Tacos is a must. The homemade salsa is to die for and their fiery hot diablo sauce is out of this world. Whatever you do, do not leave Austin without eating at Torchy’s.

Wishing you peace, love, adventure, and a full belly,

Jen
